“The Facebook Show?” HLN vice president of development Kari Kim claims that neither Facebook nor HLN wants the new show they have teamed up for to have that kind of “feel” to it.

HLN now on FacebookFacebook and Time Warner’s HLN network have partnered up in order to plan a pilot for a new television series.

Both companies claim they want the series to be based on using the social network to uncover and tell interesting and fascinating stories to the show’s viewers. They plan to use Facebook tools to learn new information and to give recognition to things that are happening all over the world.

The HLN network, which is also a part of CNN Worldwide, came up with what Facebook calls “very encouraging ideas,” according to the director of news and global partnerships at Facebook, Andy Mitchell.

Although the details of the new show are still somewhat sketchy, the pilot is scheduled to air sometime before the summer of 2015. Thus far, options for the show to have a weekly format or possibly a series of specials are still under discussion, and a host for the show has not been chosen yet.

HLN’s primary mission in the business venture is to sort through posts, memes, and everything else in order to uncover interesting stories and cultural shifts. HLN is also in the process of refining their programming. The plan for the show is to ultimately reflect Facebook on TV in a distinctive and innovative way.

The show’s viewers will likely be able to register their program opinions on the Facebook site whenever the show finally airs.
